Family OS is a private tool made by ZBA Tech for one household. Only members of that household sign in to it.
With the account holder's consent, Family OS uses Google's read-only Gmail permission (gmail.readonly) to read message metadata and short previews. It cannot send, delete or change mail.
Mail is read to sort it into categories (for example bills, school, receipts) and to show the household what needs attention. Nothing is used for advertising, and nothing is sold.
Results are stored on the household's own computer. Access tokens are kept in that computer's system keychain.
To classify a message, Family OS may send its subject, the sender's domain and a short preview, with account numbers and other identifiers removed first, to a classification service under a no-retention setting. No other third party receives Gmail data.
Family OS's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Remove "Family OS" at myaccount.google.com/permissions at any time. Locally stored results are deleted on request.
